Dozens Of Pendet Dancers Pasepan Enliven The Opening Of The 8th Nusa Penida Festival 2025

The 8th Nusa Penida Festival of 2025 was officially opened by Assistant Deputy for the Indonesian Tourism International Event, Hafiz Agung Rifai on the Coast of Tanjung Kerambitan Beach, Batununggul Village, Nusa Penida District, Klungkung Regency, Friday (7/11).

The opening begins with the Pekelem Ceremony accompanied by the dance of Dozens of Pendet Pasepan and Baris Pati dances.

Furthermore, the opening ceremony was marked by the beating of kentongan/kulkul by the Regent of Klungkung, I Made Satria, Deputy Regent of Klungkung, Tjokorda Gde Surya Putra, Regent of West Bandung, Jeje wrong Ismail, Chairman of Commission IV DPRD Bali Province, I Nyoman Suwirta and other invitations.

On this occasion, the Regent of Satria was proud of the holding of this Nusa Penida Festival. Where, Nusa Penida Festival is an annual event organized by the Klungkung Regency Government and of course it has also become the pride of the people of Klungkung Regency, especially in the Nusa Penida Islands. This year for the 3rd time it has been included in the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) of the Ministry of Tourism.

"So with the increasing development of tourism, the 8th Nusa Penida Festival in 2025 will be held in collaboration with stakeholders carrying the theme 'The Soul For Tummarrow' which has a meaning to remind us all that Nusa Penida's soul, which has lived in a culture, tradition and nature that is beautiful, we must protect together to be passed on to future generations," said the Regent of Satria in a written statement received by VOI.

The Regent of Satria added that the Nusa Penida Festival series was held for 4 days from November 6 to 9, 2025, involving all elements of society, tourism organizations and business actors/MSMEs, artists, culturalists, communities and educational institutions. In addition, through this activity we do not show the beauty and richness of Nusa Penida culture, but also strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration in building competitive, cultural and sustainable tourism.

"Let's make this festival a momentum to strengthen our joint commitment towards the future of global competitive Klungkung tourism, but remain rooted in the values of Balinese culture," he hoped.

Meanwhile, in his remarks, Assistant Deputy for International Tourism Events of the Republic of Indonesia, Hafiz Agung Rifai expressed his appreciation from the Ministry of Tourism for the Klungkung Regency Government for preparing so that the Nusa Penida Festival event was well organized.

He added that the Nusa Penida Festival is an extraordinary activity in addition to promoting tourism as well as preserving Klungkung arts and cultural customs, especially Nusa Penida. He also hopes that in the future Nusa Penida tourism will continue to grow and progress and through this festival it can also be an attraction for tourists to visit Nusa Penida, especially this year for the 3rd time that it is included in the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) of the Ministry of Tourism and that is extraordinary.

"Congratulations and success Nusa Penida Festival 2025, hopefully with this event will become the spirit and motivation of all people to jointly maintain natural beauty, traditional cultural arts for the progress of Nusa Penida in the future," he hoped.

At the end of the opening ceremony, the Regent of Satria together with Deputy Regent Tjok Surya also symbolically handed over the BPJS Employment Participants Card and the Benefits of BPJS Employment for the Death Security Program.
