Police Gali Motif Terduga Pelaku Explosives Di SMAN 72 Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror intervened in handling the explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta which was inside the Indonesian Navy Complex, Kodamar, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

Densus 88 is investigating the connection between the alleged perpetrators of the explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta and other terror networks.

The reason is, the total number of victims due to the explosion reached 96 people.

"Densus 88 analyzes whether this has anything to do with other terrorists. Including what the motive is, it is the authority of the Densus," said Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto, Sunday, November 9.

However, Polda Metro Jaya has not been able to reveal evidence of powder that was secured from the house of the alleged perpetrator.

"Later we will convey it completely by Puslabfor. Because scientifically investigation, the implementation of processing this evidence is the authority of the puslabfor. Later those who have expertise in this matter," he said.

Kombes Budi said the joint team was still investigating the explosion that occurred at the SMAN 72 Mosque in Jakarta.

"This work unit is still working. From Densus, Puslabfor Police Headquarters, Gegana also matched the findings in the field. Whether it was suspected that this bomb came from what powder it was, it would later be explained from Gegana's side, Jibom Gegana's party," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the motive for the explosion that occurred at SMAN 72 Jakarta, Polda Metro Jaya has not provided an official statement. Densus 88 is still investigating the motive for the explosion.

"There is an analysis of the motives and networks carried out by the Densus," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the explosion occurred inside the SMAN 72 Mosque in Jakarta which was inside the Indonesian Navy Complex, Kodamar, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta on Friday, November 7, 2025.

Meanwhile, based on the information received, evidence was found of two long-barreled weapons and a revolver type pistol allegedly belonging to the perpetrator.

The long-barreled weapon reads "Welcome To Hell". Apart from weapons, the authorities also found objects suspected of being bombs.
