Dasco Visits SMAN 72 Explosion Victim At Cempaka Putih Hospital, Reveals 17-Year-Old Perpetrator Is Being Operated

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, visited the victims of the SMA Negeri 72 Jakarta explosion at the Jakarta Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital. Dasco came with the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR Habiburokhman and the presidential special envoy, Raffi Ahmad.

"We express our deep concern over the occurrence of this unwanted incident. We have seen the victims, both those who are (injured) mild and those who are being operated on," said Dasco at the Jakarta Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital, Friday, November 7.

Dasco revealed, out of a total of 60 students who were injured, four students were undergoing surgery, and eight others were allowed to go home. While 20 students are still being treated.

"There are 4, which is then still under treatment for around 20. About 8 are soon allowed to go home. Of the total 60, more than that have already entered," he said.

"If those who are operated because of their injuries are quite severe, some are in the jaw, some are in the head, and some are in the face," he continued.

Dasco said that currently the Indonesian Police are investigating and investigating the motive for the explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta.

"And the police are currently under investigation, and we pray that those who are operated will be safe and healthy as usual," he said.

Regarding the perpetrator, Dasco was reluctant to comment much on this incident, and submitted further information by the police. However, he said the alleged perpetrator was still 17 years old and was undergoing surgery.

"I received information that it is still under operation. (The perpetrator) Yes, it is still being operated, (age) 17 years old," he said.

"(The suspected perpetrator is a student or outside party, ed) Later on this matter let the authorities or the police convey it to media partners," he added.

Dasco appealed to schools to apply the principle of prudence, especially to students to wisely use technology.

"Don't look at gadgets, among other things, maybe because of the influence seen on social media. But for more details, the cause, the authorities will explain later," he said.
