Police Investigate The Motive For The Kidnapping Of Balita Bilqis In Makassar

Makassar Police are still investigating the motive for kidnapping a child named Bilqis. The 4-year-old toddler was allegedly kidnapped by someone whose actions were caught on CCTV on Sunday (2/11) at Pakui Sayang Park, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"Currently, our investigators are still working hard to collect evidence and examine related witnesses. We cannot confirm whether this is a kidnapping or child trafficking case," said Head of Public Relations of Makassar Police AKP Wahiduddin as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 6.

Investigators have carried out development and focus on handling the case. However, his party does not want to speculate whether this is the practice of kidnapping or the alleged practice of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons or TIPs.

Regarding the news circulating on social media that narrated the perpetrators of the kidnapping, namely that the husband and wife had been arrested by the police, AKP Wahiduddin could not confirm yet.

"We cannot confirm any information regarding the arrest of the perpetrators. We are currently still focusing on further investigation and deepening," he said.

Previously, the footage of the alleged kidnapping of the victim was caught on CCTV at the scene. One of the long-haired women carried the victim and two other children. In the video, the victim wore a pink shirt and a white hat and was carried by the alleged perpetrator.

The victim was taken by the perpetrator when his father Dwi Nur Mas (Dimas) was suspected of having lost control because he was exercising at Taman Pakui Field, General Infrastructure Office Area, Jalan Andi Pangeran Pettarani, Makassar on Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2025.

From the information obtained, Dimas received news from social media that the perpetrator had been arrested by the police, but his son had not been found. He was suspicious and suspected that based on the news that his son was suspected of being a victim of a TIP syndicate.

"We received news that the perpetrator had been arrested, her husband had just been arrested. We hope that the police can immediately reveal it and our child will return safely," he hoped.

Separately, the Head of Child Protection Division of the Makassar City Women and Children Protection Empowerment Service (DP3) Isnaniah Nurdin said, two children suspected of being the perpetrator's child were already in a safe house belonging to the Makassar PPA UPTD.

"We have placed these two children in safe houses. But we need to fulfill their rights because they are still children so they don't become victims of their parents' behavior that violates the law," he said.
