After Undergoing Today's Examination, KPK Detains 5 New Suspects In The Situbondo PEN Fund Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained five new suspects for alleged corruption related to receiving gifts or promises in the management of the National Economic Recovery (PEN) funds as well as the procurement of goods and services (PBJ) in the Situbondo Regency Government in 2021-2024.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said detention for the first 20 days from today, November 4 to November 23. The five are known to have undergone examination at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"Detention is carried out at the KPK Detention Center," Budi told reporters in a written statement, Tuesday night, November 4.

The parties detained were the Director of CV Ronggo, Roespandi; Director of CV Karunia, Adit Ardian Rendy Hidayat; Owner and Controller of CV Citra Bangun Persada, Tjahjono Gunawan; Director of PT Anugrah Cakra Buana Jaya Lestari 2021-2022, Muhammad Amran Said Ali; and Director of PT Badja Karya Nusantara, As'al Fany Balda.

This detention is the development of the corruption case that ensnared the former Situbondo Regent Karna Suswandi. He has been sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison for receiving gratuities in the management of PEN and PBJ funds in the Situbondo Regency Government.

Because he was also sentenced to pay a fine of Rp. 350 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison and compensation of Rp. 4.55 billion, subsidiary to 2 years in prison.

The verdict was handed down by the panel of judges at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Surabaya District Court (PN) on October 31.
