Two Hours With Prabowo, Ignasius Jonan Discusses Diplomacy To People's Program

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Transportation Ignasius Jonan shared his two-hour views with President Prabowo Subianto, at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, around diplomacy to pro-people programs.

"So, we actually also asked for time to share. As a people, as citizens, we discussed the programs he had been running so far," said Jonan after meeting the President, Monday, November 3.

He said the meeting was initiated by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, in order to share views on a number of government programs that are now being run by President Prabowo and all ministries/agencies.

Jonan expressed his appreciation because President Prabowo is willing to listen to various inputs and have open dialogues regarding various strategic policies, including foreign diplomacy, the development of SOEs, as well as people's programs.

"We also share about his very good and active participation in foreign diplomacy. Also in the development of SOEs and the participation of SOEs for more nations and countries," he said.

The President Director of PT KAI for the 2009 to 2014 period assessed that President Prabowo's work in strengthening Indonesia's role in the international world and encouraging the participation of SOEs for the benefit of the nation should be appreciated.

In addition, the man who succeeded in changing the face of the KAI transportation service also highlighted a number of pro-people programs such as Free Nutrition Food (MBG), Red and White Village Cooperatives, and People's Schools which according to him had a chain economic impact.

"Indeed, if asked to be perfect from the start, it might not be possible. But this is a slow repair, it should have been running all this time," said Jonan.

He explained that the discussion was purely sharing and gave views in his capacity as a citizen.

"So the discussion is just that, nothing else," he said.
