JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the presence of one of the two Airbus A400M transport aircraft ordered by Indonesia at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta, Monday, November 3.

One unit of Airbus A400M arrived in the country after traveling about three days from the Airbus Military and Defense International Training Center in Sevilla, Spain.

The plane was manned by 22 personnel who had completed Line & Basic Category (Electrical & Avionic) Airbus A400M training. The President explained that the newly landed A400M aircraft, including another one which is expected to arrive soon, will be used as an air ambulance.

This aircraft will support various TNI operations, such as evacuating injured victims who need emergency handling.

President Prabowo also ordered the TNI to immediately complete this latest transport aircraft with medical equipment and air ambulance equipment, so that the largest Airlifter of the Indonesian Air Force can play an optimal role in SAR missions, disaster management, and medical assistance.

Presiden Prabowo Subianto rencananya akan melakukan negosiasi kembali untuk empat unit Airbus A400M lainnya.
