Palembang Search and Rescue (SAR) team, South Sumatra, found the bodies of the drowning victims in Curug Besemah, Pagaralam City, which had been missing since Saturday, November 1.

Head of the Palembang SAR Office, Raymond Konstantin, said the victim named M. Azi Sahir (16) was found dead on Monday morning at around 01.32 WIB.

The victim was found floating not far from the initial location of the incident. The victim was then evacuated and taken to the funeral home to be handed over to the family," said Raymond in Palembang, Antara, Monday, November 3.

In the search process, the Palembang SAR Office Basarnas coordinated all joint elements consisting of the TNI/Polri, the Fire Department, BPBD, and the local community.

"The search method is carried out by diving up to a depth of about 20 meters," he said.

With the discovery of the victim, the SAR operation was declared complete and all elements involved were returned to their respective units.

The incident began on Saturday at around 12.50 WIB, when the victim and eight of his friends took a bath at Curug Besemah.

While playing with water, the victim was suddenly dragged by a heavy current. His colleagues had tried to help, but the strong current made the victim sink and disappear from sight.
