JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Hidayat Nur Wahid or HNW reminded diversity or diversity not to be used as material for dividers, debates, and conflicts.

The reason, he said, is that religion must be used for harmony, tolerance, and realizing solutions, understanding, and agreements that unite (single).

The intimacy of the Indonesian nation with diversity, he said, was included in preparing for Indonesia's independence, which was very visible in the membership of various institutions that prepared Merdeka Indonesia such as BPUPKI, Committee Nine, and PPKI.

It is said that Indonesia's diversity causes the founding fathers of the nation who have different backgrounds and origins.

He mentioned that there are public education and Islamic boarding schools from within the country and abroad, political parties and community organizations, from ethnic groups and cultures, as well as from different customs and religions.

"However, they can produce solutions and finally present agreements on the basis and ideology of the state and the constitution of the Indonesian state which they proclaim their independence," he said.

Nevertheless, HNW said that it was often forgotten that there were members of PPKI, namely one figure from Bali Province who took part as a member of the PPKI (Indonesian Independence Preparation Committee).

The figure was involved in agreeing on Pancasila in its final version (18 August 1945), drafting the 1945 Constitution, and was present at the reading of the proclamation of independence on 17 August 1945.

Therefore, according to HNW, political parties in Bali, including the Bali Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), which is also part of PKS Indonesia, must be able to continue their historic role as inherited and played by national heroes.

Thus, he emphasized that no barrier should discriminate between diversity to maintain the integrity and sustainability of the Republic of Indonesia, especially to be able to lead to Indonesia in 2045 successfully.

"That is the historic role that must be repeated and continued by all of us so that the four pillars of the MPR RI that they have inherited can be maintained and realized. This is a challenge for the success of the Indonesian nation and state in welcoming Indonesia Gold 2045," he said.

On the other hand, he admitted that he had conveyed to the UN leadership in Geneva, Switzerland, that one of the functions of the MPR RI's duties was to conduct basic socialization and ideology of the Pancasila state, the constitution of the 1945 Constitution, the form of the state of the Republic of Indonesia, and the motto of the state of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

In response, the UN leaders were said to be amazed because there is only one country in the world, namely Indonesia, which has a state institution that conducts socialization of the values of national and state life to convey to its citizens.
