JAKARTA - Three Russian citizens (WN) came to the representative office of the Thousand Islands Police in Marina Ancol, North Jakarta, regarding the lagging behind one of the foreigners' cellphones in a taxi he was traveling in.

The Head of Crime Investigation Unit of the Thousand Islands Police, Iptu Rama Sany, who received the report, immediately directed the three foreigners to the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) picket to be followed up.

The report was then responded quickly by Samapta personnel, who immediately conducted a search and coordination with related parties.

As a follow-up, officers also escorted the reporters to the Somerset Hotel Berlian Permata Hijau, South Jakarta, where they were staying.

The police then coordinated with the management of the Somerset Hotel and the Bluebird taxi operator to help identify the taxi drivers used by the foreigners.

The results of rapid coordination paid off. The lost cellphone was found and delivered directly to the Somerset Hotel at around 13.30 WIB, or only about 90 minutes after the report was received.

The Thousand Islands Police Chief, AKBP Arga Dija Putra, confirmed the information.

"This is a tangible manifestation of precise Polri services. The safety and comfort of the community, including foreign nationals, is our priority. We will handle each report seriously and quickly," said AKBP Arga when confirmed, Friday, October 31, 2025.

The police chief stated that the successful disclosure of the cellphone belonging to the Russian citizen proved that the police provided the best service for the community.

"Not only protecting local residents, but also ensuring that every state guest feels security and comfort while in Indonesia," he said.
