MKD Decides Rahayu Saraswati To Remain A Member Of The DPR

JAKARTA - The House of Representatives' Honorary Court (MKD) decided that Gerindra Party politician, Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo, or Sara remained a member of the DPR for the period 2024-2029.

The news was known through the release of the MKD decision received by journalists on Thursday, October 30.

In his statement, MKD explained that the decision was taken when the ethics board held an internal meeting held on Wednesday, October 29.

The meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the DPR MKD Nazaruddin Dek Gam and attended by four of the five leadership elements and eight MKD members, stated that this decision was taken after receiving a letter from the Gerindra Party Honorary Council explaining Sara's membership status.

The letter was sent on October 16, 2025 and became the basis for examining the MKD in accordance with the provisions of the institution's certification.

"After considering legal aspects, MKD procedures, as well as the decision of the Gerindra Party Honorary Council, MKD decided that Sister Rahayu Saraswati remains a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2024-2029," reads a written statement from the DPR MKD.

Previously, Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo expressed his resignation as a member of the DPR because he understood that there was an expression some time ago that was considered to have hurt many parties. Sara stated that the resignation was on Wednesday, September 10, shortly a riot incident at the end of August.

President Prabowo's nephew also apologized profusely for his words and mistakes.

Then the Gerindra Party faction as a member of the DPR also deactivated President Prabowo Subianto's nephew after resigning.
