Those Who Know That The Fast Train Project Will Be Called By The KPK In The Investigation Stage

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will ask for information from parties who are believed to be aware of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail construction project,

This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo when asked about the opportunity to summon PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) for questioning. Request for information is said to be necessary to find criminal events in the project.

"We make sure that in this stage of investigation, of course, the team will also make requests for information to parties suspected of knowing the construction of this case," Budi told reporters, Thursday, October 30.

Even so, Budi emphasized that the summons for the party being questioned would not be published. This is because the investigation process at the KPK is carried out behind closed doors.

The new publication will be delivered at the investigation stage. "Regarding the parties who will later be questioned, of course, because this is still at the investigation stage, we have not been able to convey in detail these parties," he said.

For information, MAYh serves the Jakarta-Bandung route with a length of 142.3 kilometers with a travel time of about 30'45 minutes and has been operating since October 2023 after being inaugurated by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi). This project is a collaboration between the Indonesian government and China.

The project value at that time was only targeted at 5.13 billion US dollars or around Rp. 82.08 trillion. However, this figure swelled by 1.2 billion US dollars to 7.27 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 115 trillion assuming the US dollar exchange rate was Rp. 16 thousand.

Previously reported, information on the investigation into the alleged corruption of the Jakarta 'Bandung high-speed rail project, closed-up was initially conveyed by the Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur.
