Demak Tightens Illegal Cigarette Raids, Regent Esti'anah Appreciates Task Force

DEMAK continues to be intensified by the Demak Regency Government. The Regent of Demak, Esti'anah emphasized his commitment to suppressing the circulation of illegal excisable goods because they endanger the community and harm the state.

Satpol PP Demak together with Customs and Excise, TNI, and Polri destroyed 1,038,128 illegal SKM cigarettes, 396 SKT sticks, as well as 2,868 liters and 2,113 bottles of illegal alcoholic beverages. The destruction took place at the Grahadika Bina Praja Building Satpol PP Office, Wednesday, October 29.

Plt. Kasatpol PP Demak, Agus Sukiyono, explained that the prosecution was carried out based on Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2015 related to alcohol and illegal excisable goods rules. This step is to protect the public from the dangers of illegal cigarettes and alcohol and encourage awareness of choosing legal and safe products," he said.

Agus emphasized that supervision will continue to be tightened through the 2025 Tobacco Products Excise Sharing Fund (DBHCHT) synergy. He asked residents to report if they found indications of violations. We want a deterrent effect for perpetrators and public support to eradicate the circulation of illegal goods," he added.

Regent Esti'anah appreciated the work of the Task Force which was considered effective in suppressing the circulation of illegal cigarettes in his area. The results of the confiscation are always increasing. The control of community diseases also continues to be intensified so that Demak is more dignified, advanced, and prosperous," he said.

This activity was also attended by Forkopimda Demak and representatives of Satpol PP from the surrounding Regency/City.
