PAM Water Service In 53 Kelurahan In Jakarta Will Be Temporarily Turned Off Due To Maintenance, Here's The List

JAKARTA - Perumda PAM Jaya announced that there will be a temporary suspension of clean water supply in a number of Jakarta areas this weekend. The disruption was caused by PLN's electrical work which had an impact on Pulogadung Water Processing Installation (IPA), East Jakarta, with a production capacity of 4,500 liters per second.

PAM Jaya President Director Arief Nasrudin explained that PLN's work is part of the regular rejuvenation of the electricity network. As a result, IPA Pulogadung had to stop producing water for four hours, starting Friday, October 31, 2025 at 22.00 WIB until Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 02.00 WIB.

"There will be disruption of water supply services at the Pulogadung IPA. Where, we use electricity from PLN and indeed there is a period where PLN will do it, usually rejuvenation," said Arief at a press conference at the PAM Jaya office, Pejompongan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, October 29.

According to Arief, this temporary suspension was carried out to prevent the risk of a short circuit or damage to the power grid which could result in longer and unexpected disruptions.

"If there is no electricity repair by PLN, this is also a big risk, it will happen like a short circuit or whatever which may result in unpredictable time. There is an unpredictable time, which will later become a water service," he said.

This disruption of clean water supply will have an impact on around 311,524 customers spread across 53 urban villages in the areas of Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta.

Several affected areas include Mount Sahari Utara, Pasar Baru, Kemayoran, Cempaka Putih Barat, Rawasari, Johar Baru, Senen, Pisangan Timur, Rawamangun, Pulo Gadung, West Cakung, East Cakung, Jatinegara, East Kelapa Gading, Rorotan, Kebon Bawang, Koja, and Sunter Jaya.

Arief added, in addition to electricity work from PLN, PAM Jaya has also improved water pressure and replaced several components in the Pulogadung IPA which are more than two decades old.

"This is actually part of the project as well, apart from PLN replacing what and carrying out electricity treatment, also in us in Pulogadung there are also replacements, which have been untouched for 25 years," he explained.

Although the repairs only lasted four hours, the restoration of water distribution to customers is estimated to take longer. Arief said the full normalization process could reach 48 hours due to the length of the distribution pipeline network.

"After 4 hours we recovered, we finished repairing and repairing, that was immediately then the closest area, yes, at that time the water was immediately recovered. So, that's the duration from 4 hours to 48 hours," said Arief.

Customers are advised to hold water before work starts as an anticipatory measure as long as supplies are disrupted.

To maintain customer comfort, PAM JAYA also prepares free water tanker car services for household customers as well as for emergency conditions such as hospitals, places of worship and social foundations. This service can be accessed through the PAM JAYA Contact Center in 1500 223.

As an additional service, eight PAM JAYA Business Area Offices (AB) will also operate on Saturday, November 1, 2025 and Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 08.00 a.m. local time to help customers who need direct information and services, including AB Senen, AB Klender, AB Pulomas, AB Gudang Air, AB Kelapa Gading, AB Dewa Ruci, AB Yos Sudarso and AB Sunter.
