JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto attended the destruction of 214.84 tons of drug evidence at Bhayangkara Field at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta.

In his speech, President Prabowo emphasized that he did not interfere with the performance and internality of the National Police.

The President initially appreciated the National Police for successfully uncovering 49,306 drug cases during his one year government. As well as successfully confiscating evidence of drugs weighing 214.84 tons of various types of drugs worth Rp29.37 trillion.

The President also praised the success of the National Police in identifying 228 drug villages throughout Indonesia, with 118 of them having been successfully transformed into a village free from drugs.

"In a very important event, namely the destruction of drug evidence from the work of the National Police during October 1, 2024 to October 2025, which they managed to seize 214.8 tons, whose money value is Rp29.37 trillion and if they fail to prevent or they are confiscated they can be used by 629 million people, meaning that more than twice the Indonesian nation has almost twice," Prabowo said at the National Police Headquarters, Wednesday, October 29.

Prabowo realized that the threat of drugs is no less dangerous than the military threat. Because drugs can damage the nation's future.

Prabowo said he had asked the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo for three things, namely eradicating drugs, smuggling, and online gambling.

Prabowo then mentioned that he had never interfered and intervened in the performance of the Police.

"At the beginning, I respected you, I didn't mess around, I didn't leave any officials, did I, the National Police Chief? Yes, if my ex has a police officer who used to manage me, then please come in for a while, that's okay, I'll leave this to the NCO, it's good, so make it a fake officer, from hundreds of thousands I'll leave 2-3 people, right, my former bodyguard has my motorbike, the police. I risked my life, the motorbikes are risking my life," said Prabowo.

"I saw the heavy rain in the car, he greeted his life, so yes, it's me but it's legal, really it's not Come on, the ministers also leave 1-2 people allowed, but I don't have my nephew please make it no, I'm not responsible because I only asked for three, because I was focused earlier," he continued.

Prabowo said the police had a duty to bring order. So he understands that the Police are often criticized. He also knows there are naughty police officers, but not all police are bad.

"I'm a person who doesn't like pleasantries, the police are always vilified, they are always cursed at everywhere in the world because it's their job to discipline them. I was also young, not now if there was a red light, no police, Jeung (through traffic), I admit it wrong, I'm not right that the police are the task of controlling, it's the right thing, we are wrong, we are kontol. We have various kinds of police, why are we hiding in the dark, it means you just want to be orderly. Now, this is not true, then surely in the corps, there are hundreds of thousands that are not true," he said.

"I am a former commander. I know that my subordinates are naughty, there is something annoying, that's already a task. I take this example if there is a student school there is a brawl whether the school is wrong or the teachers are all wrong, this is a child, yes stubborn, it must be dealt with and I think our institutions are police officers, all of them do not hesitate to take action against their members who are not orderly, I believe that," concluded Prabowo.
