Young Lawyers Critically Shot By A Group Of People In Tanah Abang

JAKARTA - WA (34) suffered a gunshot wound and was beaten on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, around Greenwood Building, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the upper right to critical. The victim was evacuated to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for treatment.

It is known, the victim WA works as a lawyer. Currently, his condition is reported to be stable and is still under medical treatment due to his gunshot wound.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro confirmed the incident.

According to him, the incident occurred at around 07.28 WIB. Officers who received the report immediately took quick steps by deploying the Samapta team and the Central Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim.

"It is true, we received reports of alleged beatings and mistreatment with the victim, a man with the initials WA. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the upper right back," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed, Tuesday afternoon.

The police arrived at the location at around 09.47 WIB, then followed by a crime scene investigation. When the officers arrived, the situation was conducive.

"Currently we are still investigating and processing the TKP further," he said.

The police are still collecting evidence and checking CCTV footage around the location to identify the perpetrators and find out the motive behind the violence.

"The investigation is still ongoing. We are currently identifying the perpetrators and investigating whether this case is related to personal conflict or other motives," he said.

The police chief emphasized that his staff would take firm action against perpetrators of violence and continue to maintain security in the Central Jakarta area.

"We urge the public to remain calm and not speculate. Fully entrust the investigation process to the police," he said.
