Government Guarantees 2026 Hajj Quota Distribution Is More Transparent And Free Of Intervention

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, guarantees the distribution of the Hajj quota in 1447 H/2026 AD will be carried out in a transparent and intervention-free manner.

"Later, our Hajj quota will socialize the formulation of the calculation openly, so no one can intervene," said Dahnil during a working meeting with Commission VIII of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, October 27.

He said the move was taken to prevent intervention or unfair practice in determining the number of congregants from each province.

"For example, East Java, North Sumatra, or West Java, there is a mathematical formulation in accordance with the law and we will socialize so that there is no fraud related to the total quota of each province," he explained.

Dahnil said the government wanted to ensure that the entire hajj management process, starting from determining quotas to technical implementation in the field, runs professionally and accountably. The transparency principle, he said, would also be applied in collaboration with Hajj or Sarikah organizers in Saudi Arabia.

"Regarding essence, it was also conveyed by the Minister that we chose only two essences, departing from previous experiences when working with eight essences. This decision is also the result of a long discussion with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia," he said.

Dahnil revealed that the Government of Saudi Arabia wants only two essences to handle the implementation of Indonesian pilgrims.

He hopes that with this system, one embarkation is only related to one essence so that the implementation becomes more effective and minimizes the potential problems that have occurred in the past.

They want only two essences and later these two little essences will be more effective, so that past incidents don't happen again. We do this very openly and everything can be accessed," said Dahnil.
