JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump opened the possibility of signing an agreement with TikTok on Thursday local time.
Trump claimed to have obtained "temporary approval" from Chinese President Xi Jinping following his threat to ban TikTok from operating in the US for a number of reasons.
Mengutip Reuters, Senin 27 Oktober, Trump diperkirakan akan bertemu dengan Xi Jinping di sela-sela KTT APEC 2025 yang digelar di Korea Selatan (South Korea).
Previously, the US repeatedly threatened TikTok because the app was considered a danger to US security as China was allowed to access users' personal data.
TikTok will be blocked in the US if the parent company of the app, ByteDance, does not meet TikTok's requirements to become a joint venture when US-based.
In the deal rolling, ByteDance will own about 20 stock operations in the new entity in the US.
While the remaining shares will be held by investors from the US, including Oracle as the person in charge of security operations. Oracle will also be the one who stores TikTok's data in the US.
