The Moment Of National Santri Day, TJSL PalmCo's Contribution To Islamic Boarding Schools Turns Out To Be This Large

PTPN III (Persero) Plantation Holding through PTPN IV PalmCo sub-holding helped strengthen the commemoration of National Santri Day 2025 through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. Until the end of the third quarter of this year, the total assistance distributed by PalmCo to Islamic boarding schools was recorded at Rp721.35 million.

The funds were spread to 22 Islamic boarding schools at various regional points, from North Sumatra, Lampung, to Jambi, with various forms of support according to the needs of each institution.

President Director of PTPN IV PalmCo Jatmiko K. Santosa said support for the pesantren world was part of the company's efforts to strengthen relations with the community through religious value-based education.

Santri are an important part of the social ecosystem around plantations. They not only study religion, but also build moral characters and values that become the foundation of the nation. We want to be here to strengthen that, in a useful and sustainable way," said Jatmiko in his statement, Saturday, October 25.

Furthermore, Jatmiko explained that most assistance was directed for the construction and rehabilitation of educational facilities and santri dormitories. While others are used to support the operations of religious activities, the provision of learning equipment, to the development and implementation of pesantren birthdays.

"Of all the programs that have been realized, the largest value of assistance is given for the construction of the Al-Hikmah Islamic Boarding School Istiqomah Buay Bahuga in South Lampung worth IDR 500 million. The funds are used to expand educational facilities and improve learning space for students in the area," he explained.

In a number of other areas, the smaller pesantren also received assistance as needed. Several Islamic boarding schools and modern Islamic boarding schools in Medan have received support for the construction of dormitories, bathrooms, as well as assistance for religious activities such as student training and Ramadan activities.

For pesantren caregivers, this assistance is not just a matter of physical development, but a moral impetus that fosters a new spirit among students.

This assistance is very meaningful because it can explore the potential and skills of students in facing the future," said Muhammad Al-Fikri, caretaker of the Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding School in Jambi.

According to Al-Fikri, on a series of commemorations of the 47th anniversary of his pesantre which fell a few days ago, his party deliberately held various competitions to see the potential of santri in various fields, including digital technology.

Many students have religious-based capabilities, but also follow the development of digital technology. Well, we will see this by holding a competition for the use of religious-based technology," he added.

From a more feasible study room to coaching activities that foster new skills, the TJSL program run by PalmCo is a tangible form of concern for the sustainability of religious education in Indonesia.
