A Year Of Prabowo-Gibran, Ministry Of Defense Focuses On Forming 100 Territorial And Komcad Battalions

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) emphasized four main focuses on building national defense in one year of President Prabowo Subianto's leadership.

Head of Bureau (Karo) Infohan Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense Brigadier General Frega Ferdinand Wenas Inkiriwang said the four points were based on the vision of making Indonesia a strong, independent, and dignified nation based on national defense policies.

"The first focus, strengthening the unity of the nation and the universal defense system, is realized through the formation of the 100th Territorial Battalion of Development and strengthening of reserve components (komcad)," Frega said in an official press release Monday.

This, said Frega, is the first focus of the Ministry of Defense because BTP and Komcad are one of the main motors driving national defense as well as strengthening food security in the regions.

The second focus of the Ministry of Defense, continued Frega, is to increase military strength to strengthen defense modernization.

This effort was marked by the presence of strategic defense equipment such as the largest frigate in Southeast Asia KRI Brawijaya-320, the H225M helicopter, and the launch of the MV3-EV Pandu tactical electric vehicle.

Furthermore, the third focus of the ministry is developing the domestic defense industry through several efforts, one of which is the Indo Defense Expo & Forum 2025 exhibition.

"The fourth focus is expanding strategic partnerships and defense diplomacy, including the presence of the Indonesian delegation at the Indian Republic Day parade and the 2025 Bastille Day in France," Frega explained.

This cross-border cooperation is considered to be able to strengthen Indonesia's defense diplomacy efforts with other countries so that the presence of the TNI can be taken into account on the international stage.

The cooperation carried out could be in the form of exchange of defense equipment technology, collaboration in the development of new defense equipment to health services and social services between friendly countries as carried out by the TNI in Papua New Guinea.

"At the global level, President Prabowo shows active leadership in world peace through participation at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in Egypt," Frega explained.

Through these four steps, Frega believes that the government has succeeded in creating defense independence in order to maintain state sovereignty, territorial integrity and national safety.
