Police Arrest 15 Teenagers Brawl In 2 Places, 8 Sickles And 3 Packs Of Cigarettes Containing Marijuana Confiscated

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Metro Police Precision Pioneer Patrol Team arrested 15 teenagers involved in a brawl and narcotics abuse on Jalan Industri Raya, Kemayoran and Jalan Kartini 10, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.

In addition to arresting 15 people, the police also confiscated evidence in the form of 8 sharp weapons of the type of sickle and 3 packs of cigarettes containing marijuana.

Then 4 units of cellphones, 1 wallet, and 1 unit of Yamaha Aerox motorcycles were also confiscated.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said a teenager with the initials IA (16), RF (25), AAY (22) and FF (19) were arrested on Jalan Industri Raya, Kemayoran.

Meanwhile, teenagers with the initials FA (15), RM (17), LMY (16), SU (18), VS (14), MF (20), ZF (15), FH (18), DP (15), MBR (20) and RR (13) were arrested on Jalan Kartini 10, Sawah Besar.

The majority of the perpetrators are known to be underage and students.

"These children should be the next generation of the nation, not perpetrators of violence or drug abusers. This is not just a violation of the law, but a real threat to their future," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed, Sunday, October 19, 2025.

The police chief appealed to parents to be more concerned and actively involved in fostering their children.

"We invite parents, don't let their children roam the night without supervision. Give them positive activities," he said.

All perpetrators are still undergoing intensive examination by the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) and the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satnarkoba) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

The examination was carried out to explore the involvement of each perpetrator and determine the legal process further.

The perpetrators are threatened with being charged with multiple articles, namely Article 2 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law no. 12 of 1951, controlling or carrying sharp weapons without permission, is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Article 111 paragraph (1) of Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, controlling marijuana without rights, is punishable by a minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 12 years and a fine of at least Rp800 million.

For minors, the legal process will be adjusted to Law no. 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System, including involving the Correctional Center (Bapas) and child protection institutions.

Routine patrols will continue to be improved, especially in locations prone to juvenile crime.

"We will continue to intensify night patrols and weekends," he said.
