JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will use the toll road to be used as a Green Open Space (RTH) that can be used by the community, especially children.

"I encourage these areas to develop green open spaces for children, even now toll buffer poles, I ask that parks be made under it," said DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo in East Jakarta, Saturday.

According to him, the provision of green open space in Jakarta is very important because children can play and hone their growth and development with physical activity compared to playing gadgets at home.

"Hopefully this year even though the space is only small, we plan this public space to be around 300 places in Jakarta," said Pramono.

Previously, Pramono had admitted that the number of Child Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA) in Jakarta had not met the needs of residents.

For this reason, he will optimize the construction of small-scale green open space at various settlement points in the capital.

According to him, city parks do not have to be wide to provide benefits. Green open space with an area of 3,000 to 5,000 square meters can still be a functional area of play, social interaction, and public space for the community.

"Right now, parks do not need to always be too wide. What is important is the benefits of being a green open space and a playground for Jakarta children," said Pramono.

With the expansion of open spaces in several areas of Jakarta, he hopes that this can accelerate the fulfillment of green open space needs as well as improve the quality of the residential environment.
