Police Develop Cause Of Death Of Woman Found In Citarum River

JAKARTA - The Cianjur Resort Police (Polres), West Java, developed a case of finding an unidentified woman's body floating in the Citarum River, precisely in Kertamukti Village, Haurwangi District, to determine the cause of death of the victim.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bojongpicung Police, Aipda Adin Widiana, said that the results of the body's external examination did not find any scars from blunt objects or sharp weapons, so his party took the victim's body to the hospital for a post-mortem.

"We received reports from residents regarding the discovery of a woman's corpse floating in a river, officers assisted by the surrounding community, evacuated the body to the riverbank and conducted a crime scene investigation," he said, quoting Antara.

His party carried out developments to reveal the exact cause of death of the victim, as well as to carry out identification to confirm the name and address of the victim because no one around him recognized him.

In fact, his party has asked for information from a number of witnesses who first found the body of a woman who is estimated to be more than 30 years old, mature sawo skin with straight long hair, and no special signs or body signs.

"We urge people who feel they have lost their family members to make sure to go to the morgue of the Cianjur Sayang Hospital," he said.

Meanwhile, the testimony of the eyewitnesses who first saw the woman's body floating on the back of the Citarum River did not believe her vision, so she informed other residents about this.

Residents found the victim's body which was difficult to identify because it was swollen, so they reported the matter to the authorities who immediately came to the location and evacuated the long-haired woman's body.

"When it was found that his position was supine on the surface of the water with most of his body swollen, making it difficult to identify. We reported this to the police and immediately evacuated the body to the riverbank," said witness Ndih (49).

He made sure the victim was not a local resident, because no one recognized him. Even over the past few days no residents have been reported missing. "It is possible that outsiders, because none of the residents have recognized him," he said.
