After Being Repaired Ahead Of MotoGP, PJU Mandalika Asked Not To Be The Target Of Theft Again

CENTRAL LOMBOK - Central Lombok Regency Government (Pemkab), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), appealed to the public to participate in maintaining and maintaining public street lighting facilities (PJU) along Jalan Bypass Lombok Airport, Mandalika Circuit, to keep functioning properly.

"PJU that has been repaired and turned on at this time must be maintained," said Head of the Central Lombok Transportation Service Lalu Herdan in Praya, Antara, Tuesday, October 14.

According to Herdan, ahead of the 2025 Indonesian MotoGP on October 5, the local government has completed improvements to all PJU points on the bypass route.

"Local governments have made improvements, and the budget spent is quite large," he said.

He emphasized that the existence of PJU is very important for the community because it increases the safety, safety and comfort of road users, especially at night.

"It used to be dark, now it's clear along the bypass road from Lombok Airport to the Mandalika Circuit," he said.

Herdan said that damage and loss of PJU cables often occur almost every year due to theft of cables and electrical panels.

This caused the government to re-allocate the budget for improvement.

"This PJU was built to support the MotoGP event and the development of NTB tourism. Therefore, we hope that the community will participate in maintaining public facilities that have been built for the common good," he said.

Sebagai informasi, Kementerian Perhubungan (Kemenhub) pada 2021 telah mengalokasikan anggaran miliaran rupiah untuk pembangunan PJU sepanjang 17 kilometer di Jalan Bypass Mandalika.

Namun sejak 2022, kabel dan panel box PJU tersebut beberapa kali hilang dicuri, sehingga perbaikan kembali dilakukan pada 2023 dan 2025 menjelang ajang MotoGP.

For information, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) in 2021 has allocated a budget of billions of rupiah for the construction of 17 kilometers of PJU on Mandalika Bypass Road.

However, since 2022, the PJU cable and box panels have been stolen several times, so that repairs will be made again in 2023 and 2025 ahead of the MotoGP event.
