During The Trial, The Prosecutor Called Riza Chalid Having A "Trader" Oil And Gas Reputation

JAKARTA - The public prosecutor (JPU) from the Attorney General's Office (AGO) Triyana Setia Putra said the owner of the benefits of PT Tanki Merak and PT Orbit Terminal Merak Mohammad Riza Chalid have a reputation as a TRAder or oil and gas trader (oil and gas).

This was revealed in the trial of reading the indictment against the child, namely Muhammad Kerry Adrianto Riza as the owner of the benefits of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa, at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court.

Riza Chalid's reputation, said the Public Prosecutor, made Kerry trusted in the acquisition of the Merak Oil Fuel Tank (TBBM). In that process, Kerry promised the Director of PT Oiltanking Merak in 2006-2014 Danny Subrata.

The promise, namely that after PT Tank Merak made the acquisition of TBBM Merak, it would be leased to PT Pertamina (Persero) in the long term and TBBM would be able to fully anticipate.

"Dany believes because of the reputation of the defendant's father Kerry as a TRAdermigas," said the prosecutor as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 13.

Previously, the Public Prosecutor said Kerry also said that she was negotiating with Pertamina regarding the rental of the TBBM PT Oiltanking Merak facility and guaranteed acquisition funding through credit from Bank BRI.

Based on the Credit Analysis Memorandum document of PT Tangkir Merak on April 21, 2024 at Bank BRI, it was explained that the memorandum of understanding was signed on March 6, 2014 and the contract will be signed between Oiltanking Merak and Pertamina.

In the timeline data from PT Tank Merak, the rental contract with Pertamina is projected to be signed in May 2014 or after obtaining certainty of financing from the bank (after PT Tank Merak obtained an official letter from the bank).

Kerry was charged with enriching herself by Rp3.07 trillion in the alleged corruption case of crude oil governance and refinery products in the 2018-2023 period, which cost the state Rp285.18 trillion.

Apart from Kerry, there is also the President of the Feedstock ManagementPT Pertamina International Refinery (KPI) in 2023 2024 Agus Purwono, President Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) in 2022 2024 Yoki Firnandi, Commissioner of PT Pelayaran Mahameru Kencana Abadi (PMKA) Gading Ramadhan Juedo, and Commissioner of PT JMN Dimas Werhaspati who listened to the reading of the indictment at the same trial.

The five defendants are suspected of having committed or participated in unlawfully enriching themselves, others, or a corporation, which cost the state Rp285.18 trillion.

For his actions, the five defendants were suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
