Wage Of IDR 5 Million Per Kilogram, 2 Couriers Of Methamphetamine 30 Kg Arrested In Dumai

The joint team from the Riau Police's Narcotics Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) together with the Dumai Navy Base (Lanal) thwarted the smuggling of 30 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from two interprovincial network couriers.

Director of the Narcotics Directorate of the Riau Police, Kombes Putu Yudha Prawira, said the two suspects with the initials DE (32) and LH (33), residents of South Sumatra, were arrested while trying to bring methamphetamine to Palembang via Roro Dumai Port, last Sunday.

"This arrest started from public information about drug shipments from Rupat Island, Bengkalis Regency. The team immediately coordinated with Lanal Dumai to carry out monitoring and investigations in the field," said Putu in Pekanbaru, Antara, Monday, October 13.

While at Roro Dumai Port, the joint team found a car suspected of carrying drugs.

However, when asked to stop, the driver tried to run away and hit the road divider. The officers then managed to arrest the two perpetrators and found 30 large packs of green tea logos containing methamphetamine hidden in a number of parts of the car.

During the examination, DE perpetrators admitted that they were promised a salary of Rp. 5 million per kilogram of crystal methamphetamine and had received an advance of Rp. 15 million which was transferred to LH's account. In addition to 30 kg of crystal methamphetamine evidence, officers also confiscated Avanza's car and four mobile phones used for network communications.
