The Inauguration Of Dubalang Batang Kuantan Marks Indigenous Collaboration And Apparatus In The Green Policing Movement

KUANTAN SINGINGI The concept of Green Policing or green consolidation is in the main spotlight in the inauguration of 654 Dubalang Batang Kuantan Singingi at the Pacu Festival on the Taluk Kuantan Line, Sunday 12 October. This movement marks a collaboration between security forces, local governments, and indigenous peoples in protecting the environment while strengthening social order.

The event, which was held at the Main Stage of the Pacu Line Festival, was chaired directly by Riau Governor Abdul Wahid and witnessed by thousands of Kuansing people.

Also present were Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryyawan, Pangdam XIX/TT Major General Agus Hadi Waluyo, Danrem 031/WB Brigadier General Jarot Suprihanto, Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby, as well as Forkopimda ranks, traditional leaders, and community leaders.

Hundreds of Dubalangs stood firmly in the middle of the field wearing full Malay traditional clothes and stepped on, marking their pride as traditional guards as well as natural protectors of the Kuantan River and Singingi River.

Riau ubernur Abdul Wahid in his speech emphasized that the role of Dubalang is now not only limited to traditional guards, but also at the forefront of protecting the environment.

Dubalang today is the natural guard of the Kuantan River and the Singingi River. There is no longer any reason to damage the environment under the pretext of making a living. There are no negotiations for the destroyer of nature," he said firmly.

Wahid assessed that the formation of Dubalang Batang Kuantan Singingi was an important part of the local wisdom-based security synergy that revived the value of the Malay Riau culture.

The collaboration between the TNI, Polri, and indigenous peoples, he said, is a tangible form of consolidation that not only protects humans, but also the ecosystem where they live.

Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan emphasized that the spirit of Dubalang is in line with the Green Policing program being developed by the Riau Police. This approach places environmental conservation as an integral part of the security and welfare system of the community.

Green Policing is not only a matter of planting trees, but planting awareness. Dubalang is a strategic partner of the police to protect the forests, rivers, and customary lands from damage. Nature that is maintained means that the people's economy is sustainable and social security is maintained," said the Kapolda.

He added that Dubalang will spearhead a community-based security system that emphasizes ecological responsibility. According to him, efforts to protect the environment will not succeed without community involvement, especially in preventing mining without permits, illegal logging, and land burning.

During the inauguration procession, the Riau Police Chief and the XIX Regional Military Commander Implemented Tambusai to hand over the command stick to the Commander of Dubalang Batang Kuantan, Datuk Toni Werdiansyah. This ceremony is a symbol of Dubalang's responsibility in protecting the land, forest, and Kuansing rivers.

After the apple, the Governor of Riau together with the Kapolda and the Pangdam spread fish seeds in the Batang Kuantan River as a tangible manifestation of their commitment to the preservation of the water ecosystem as a symbol of balance between security, customs, and nature preservation which became the spirit of Green Policing in Tanah Kuantan.
