Prabowo's Message About Bomb Threats: People Must Be Alert And Check Information Before Trust

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi conveyed President Prabowo Subianto's message asking the public to be more vigilant and not easily believe in unverified information. Especially, related to public security issues.

This was revealed by Prasetyo in response to reports of bomb threats in three international schools in North Jakarta, Tangerang Regency, and South Tangerang some time ago.

"Many times, Mr. President has always been to us, we must always be vigilant about receiving that information, we must always check again. That spirit is what the President wants us to build as a nation. That there is much more important homework than just us, apologize, irresponsible people throw issues or provide such disturbing information," Prasetyo told reporters, quoted on Saturday, October 11.

According to him, the government has followed up on the threat of the bomb by conducting direct checks on the ground. As a result, no threats were found as widely reported.

"Yes, of course, then the attention is in the form of we do a field check. And it turns out that from the results of the check, it was not found," he said.

Prasetyo said, this case is an example of how the spread of false information can cause widespread unrest in the community. He assessed that hoax phenomena are increasingly prevalent and need to be addressed with maturity together.

"Well, this is what is awareness for all of us, yes, that the information that arises often turns out that after checking it is something that is not true or the term is now a lot of hoaxes," explained Prasetyo.

Furthermore, he also appealed to the public not to spread false news, especially regarding security issues in the educational environment. According to him, it is very sensitive and can cause serious social impacts.

"And of course we from the government appeal to the whole community, especially yes, we are a form of responsibility not to do things that are outside of what should be by spreading untrue news. Moreover, I apologize if we have spoken, for example, regarding security disturbances, especially there are bombs, especially where education is located, it is very, very sensitive," said Prasetyo.

Regarding security measures, Prasetyo ensured that related institutions such as BIN, BNPT, and the National Police had received the President's direction and coordinated. However, he emphasized, the government does not need to disclose the details of its handling steps to the public.

"Certainly, and already. But we don't need to convey it," he added.
