Members Of The House Of Representatives Question The Prison Supervision System After Ammar Zoni Caught Circulating Drugs

JAKARTA - Member of Commission XIII DPR Iman Sukri questioned the security and supervision system at the prison after the viral involvement of actor Ammar Zoni as a drug collector.

Iman assessed that a similar case is not new but shows that drug trafficking in prisons is still a serious problem that has not been resolved.

"Cases like this have happened many times. Prisons should be places of guidance and termination of illegal practices, not even places for drug trafficking," said Iman, Thursday, October 9.

Iman also emphasized that the government through the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenimipas) must immediately carry out comprehensive reforms to the prison security system.

"There needs to be a thorough audit of the security system and prison officers. Do not hesitate to give severe punishment if someone is proven to have colluded with a drug network," he said.

Iman also reminded that the success of eradicating drugs is not enough just by arresting outside prisons.

"But also have to ensure that coaching places such as prisons are completely clean of this illegal practice," he concluded.

It was reported that former Ammar Zoni artist was again caught in a narcotics case. This time, Ammar Zoni was involved in drug trafficking at the Salemba Rutan where he was serving his term of detention.

Acting Head of Intelligence Section of the Central Jakarta Kejari Agung Irawan said that his party found six suspects involved in drug trafficking at the Salemba Rutan. The six suspects are Ammar Zoni, A, AP, AM Alias KA, ACM, and MR.

The suspects received methamphetamine and synthetic tobacco from Ammar Zoni. Apparently, Ammar Zoni got the illicit goods from someone outside the Class I detention center of Central Jakarta Salemba.
