JAKARTA - During the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), held at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on October 5, 2025, postgraduate students from the Defense Management (MP) Study Program, Cohort XVII of the Indonesian Defense University (UNHAN), actively participated in the series of spectacular events.
The theme “Professional TNI, People’s TNI, Advanced Indonesia” resonated throughout the ceremony, reflecting the synergy between the TNI and the people in building a strong and progressive nation.
Amid the solemn ceremony, Captain Yogie Pradana from Squadron 18, Atang Sanjaya Air Base Bogor, a postgraduate student of UNHAN’s Defense Management Program and a TNI Air Force pilot of the H225M Caracal helicopter, successfully flew the 1.3-ton Red-and-White Flag across the Jakarta skyline together with his flight team.
This impressive feat demonstrated the power of Indonesia’s defense technology and the solidarity of the TNI—lifting and carrying the national flag proudly through the skies.
His heroic act became a living symbol of the strong collaboration between academia and the military in strengthening national defense.
“It is a great honor for me to take part in the 80th TNI Anniversary. This action represents the vital relationship between academics and the TNI in building a stronger national defense,” said Captain Yogie (October 6).
Students of the UNHAN Defense Management Master’s Program were also present at the ceremony, seated in the same grandstand as President Prabowo Subianto and other high-ranking officials.
They expressed their hopes that the TNI would continue fostering synergy with all components of the nation, including the academic community, to build a more advanced and resilient Indonesia in facing global challenges.
Going forward, the TNI is expected to become even more “professional” in fulfilling its duties—not only in national defense but also in contributing to public welfare, in line with the spirit of “People’s TNI.”
One of the UNHAN Defense Management students, Antariksa Erlanda, who is also an entrepreneur in defense digitalization, aerospace, and C4ISR technologies, stated that the TNI stands as the foremost guardian of the nation’s sovereignty and protector of all Indonesians.
“To safeguard the unity of the Republic of Indonesia against any threats that may arise,” he said.
With the theme “Professional TNI, People’s TNI, Advanced Indonesia,” the 80th Anniversary of the TNI serves as a reminder of the importance of synergistic strength between the TNI, academics, and the Indonesian people.
