The Crew Of The Cumi Searchman's Ship Almost Died Thrown Into The Sea Of Panggang Island, Swimming 3 Hours With Jerry Cans

JAKARTA - R (43) a crew member (ABK) from the Men's Single Ika Ship almost died after being thrown into the sea in the waters of Panggang Island, Thousand Islands, North Jakarta.

The victim admitted that he was tortured until he was finally thrown into the sea by the squid-seeking ship.

Even before, R had also been a victim of torture and persecution by other crew members who were on the squid search boat.

For 5 days, R admitted that he was not fed because he was sick in his legs and lungs.

To VOI, the victim with the initials R admitted that his right leg was injured after being hit by lead from the squid net while working on the ship.

However, there was no good faith and mercy from the ship boss where he worked. For several days, the wound on R's toe continued to swell and got worse.

"The injured leg was hit by lead from the squid net, asking not to give medicine," said victim R, Thursday, October 9, 2025.

Instead of getting treatment, R was not fed by the ship's boss.

"My legs and lungs hurt, I was sleeping and when I woke up I wanted to eat and was immediately hit. I was beaten by 3 people. I also haven't eaten for 5 days while on the first ship (Ika's single son's ship)," he said.

Then victim R was thrown into the ocean waters of Panggang Island by the ship's tekong.

"Disposed because it is considered useless (when sick). He said 'I am useless here (on the ship). The perpetrator threw the sentence while pointing at me. Then the ship that threw me into the sea," he said.

Victim R admitted that he was thrown into the sea by the ship's tekong like a 'rat'.

"The force that threw me into the sea. He just threw a white blank jerry can as a buoy," he said.

Victim R also swam while holding the empty jerry can. The victim's body was adrift in the ocean for several hours.

Then victim R was successfully evacuated to another ship after swimming across the waters of Panggang Island for 3 hours.

"I remember my wife, in the afternoon around 3 o'clock (R was evacuated to the fishing boat)," he said.

Then the victim was evacuated by another ship that also passed. The ship that evacuated victim R then docked in the Muara Angke area.

When the ship that evacuated the victim carried out loading and unloading in Muara Baru, victim R fled to return to his hometown in Palembang. But again, the victim admitted that he was being followed by 2 unknown people. The victim then went to the Penjaringan Police to report the incident.
