He is widely known as a successful entrepreneur with a business portfolio that includes the energy, property, hospitality, and capital market sectors. However, outside of his work as an entrepreneur, Happy is also known to the public because he is the husband of the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani

His personal life began to be in the public spotlight after he married Puan Maharani Nakshatra Kusyala Devi in 1998, about a month before the collapse of the New Order era. Their wedding took place in the Kebagusan area, South Jakarta.

Happy Hapsoro is known as one of the major investors in the Indonesian capital market. He has a stock portfolio in various open companies with significant ownership, such as: PT Fortune Indonesia Tbk (FORU) at 89.25%, PT Sanurhasta Mitra Tbk (MINA) at 45.71%, PT Red Planet Indonesia Tbk (PSKT) at 40%, PT Rukun Raharja Tbk (RAJA) at 28.51%, and PT Singaraja Tbk (SINI) at 12%.

In addition, Happy Hapsoro is also a business partner at PT Cakra Buana Resource Energi Tbk (CBRE) and manages PT Basar Utama Prima.

In the energy sector, Happy owns PT Odira Energy Persada, a company focused on production, processing, and distribution of clean natural gas for industry and power plants. Based on Bloomberg data, the company also provides geological exploration services, remote sensing, to environmental analysis.

In addition, he has also held important positions in several other companies, such as PT Odira Energy Buana, PT Prima Utama Mandiri, and PT Vetira Prima Perkasa.

Not only in the energy sector, but Happy Hapsoro is also active in the property and hospitality sector. He has served as President Commissioner of PT Red Planet Indonesia Tbk who operates as operator of the Red Planet hotel network.

Through PT Red Planet Indonesia Tbk, Happy also played a role in the development of hotels with a economical and modern concept, targeting young tourists and businessmen. He briefly held the position of president commissioner until finally resigned in August 2021.

In the property world, Happy is known to ownwasom Residence, a condominium project in the Kemayoran area, Jakarta. This project strengthens his image as a good entrepreneur in developing properties in the strategic location of the capital.

The name Happy Hapsoro was linked to the BTS 4G Kominfo corruption case which involved a number of big names. However, the PDI-P through its attorney emphasized that the allegations were baseless because Happy's company is an open company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and operates legally and transparently.
