Satpol PP Will Become A "Police" Investigation Of Non-Smoking Area Violators

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Satpol PP will be given the task of becoming a "police" to investigate violators of non-smoking regional regulations. This is stated in the Draft Regional Regulation of Non-Smoking Areas (Raperda KTR).

Chairman of the Special Committee for the Raperda of the DKI Jakarta DPRD KTR, Farah Savira, said that not all regional officials have PPNS (civil servant investigators). Thus, it was decided that the Satpol PP had the authority to investigate violations of regional regulations.

"We give this investigator the freedom to provide information and the results of the investigation to the Satpol PP," Farah told reporters, Wednesday, October 8.

Meanwhile, the investigation into KTR violations within the government was carried out by Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS).

This stipulation, continued Farah, is a derivative of Articles 16 and 17. Regarding the imposition of administrative sanctions carried out by the Satpol PP. Satpol PP acts as law enforcer against violators in KTR throughout the DKI Jakarta area.

"We have given the authority to the Satpol PP," said Farah.

Dalam pembahasan BAB VI tentang Penyidikan Pasal 22 Raperda KTR, disepakati penambahan sebanyak 3 Ayat. Di antaranya:

1. Civil Servant Investigators within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government are authorized to carry out investigations into violations of this regional regulation.

2. Investigations of criminal acts in this regional regulation are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.

3. In the case that PD/UKPD does not have Civil Servant Investigators, the investigation as referred to in paragraph (2) is carried out by the Civil Service Police Unit.
