BBKSDA Investigate Original Habitat From Leopard Tutul Enters Hotel In Bandung

The West Java Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA) is investigating the native habitat of the leopard found in the Anugerah Hotel, Sukasari District, Bandung City.

"We are still investigating. Because this goes along with plantations, community areas. We can't speculate more than that," said West Java BBKSDA Public Relations Eri Mildranaya as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 6.

Eri revealed that his party could not confirm that the appearance of the animal came from Lembang Park Zoo, West Bandung Regency, which was previously reported to have escaped from the quarantine cage on Thursday (28/8).

"So we can't say for sure whether it's the same leopard or the same thing, we can't be sure yet. Not yet, we didn't get there first, because judging from the location and the time span it was too far," he said.

According to him, the distance between Lembang Park and Zoo and the location where the leopard was found in the Sukasari area reaches about 5 to 6 kilometers by passing through plantation areas and residential areas.

Eri said that his party would then observe the leopard at Lembang Park Zoo, West Bandung Regency.

Important observational steps are taken to ensure the health condition and stress level of the animal after going through the evacuation process for several hours.

"For further action, we will conduct an observation first at Lembang Park Zoo because after all this wildlife, will experience the same stress as us," said Eri.

He said that after the observation results showed the condition of the animals was stable, they would immediately be transferred to the Cikananga Animal Rescue Center (PPSC), Sukabumi Regency.
