PSI Asks The Government To Form A Supervisory Institution In The Aftermath Of Al Khoziny Sidoarjo Islamic Boarding School

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Ahmad Ali encouraged the government to form a special institution to oversee buildings in the mirror in connection with the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School, Sidoarjo, East Java (East Java), some time ago.

The institution, continued Ali, was formed to carry out inspection duties and ensure that the building is feasible from the construction side.

"The case in Sidoarjo is most likely because the construction is problematic. That's why in the future, there needs to be certification for these buildings and institutions to be placed in each district or city so that there will be no more cases like in Sidoarjo," said Ahmad Ali in a press release, Monday, confiscated by Antara.

Through this institution, said Ali, the government can determine which buildings do not or do not meet certain standards.

Thus, the incident of collapsed buildings that claimed lives can be avoided.

Apart from that, Ali admitted that he was concerned about the incident which resulted in 49 people being killed.

"We are concerned about what happened at Al Khoziny. Hopefully, the affected parties, especially the families of the victims, will be given fortitude and strength," said Ahmad Ali.

The chairman of the Central Sulawesi Mosque Council said that at times like this, a sense of solidarity between others must be strengthened by helping the evacuation process and the rehabilitation of the victims' families.

For Ali, in addition to material assistance, psychological assistance also needs to be provided to the victim and his family.

"There is a psychological burden that they bear. They must experience severe trauma. So the solution is not only providing material but also psychological assistance," he said.

By working hand in hand, Ali hopes that the victim's evacuation and psychological recovery process can run optimally.
