Toxic MBG Menu In East Jakarta, DKI DKI DKPKP Salahkan SPPG Tak Implementing SOP

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Food, Maritime and Agriculture Security Agency (DKPKP) admitted that it found a Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) that did not carry out standard operating procedures (SOP) distribution so that the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program menu resulted in poisoning.

Head of DKI Jakarta DKPKP Hasudungan Sidabalok said previously the SOP had been given by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).

"Actually, if the SOP already exists from BGN, it's clear. But when we did the monitoring, it turned out that the SOP was not implemented properly," said Hasudungan at City Hall, Friday, October 3, quoted by Antara.

Hasudungan said that his party carried out monitoring by laboratory examinations twice a week in two locations for each city in Jakarta.

"So that means, the total is twice a week, at times 5 it means 10 locations per week that we check throughout Jakarta," said Hasudungan.

Regarding the findings of the underdeveloped SOP by the SPPG, Hasudungan explained that after the food was processed properly, it was not immediately distributed to the school.

This causes the condition of food to be not good for consumption because it has been at room temperature for too long.

"There is such a thing as a food critical point. So it's not just focused on processing," he said.

Sometimes it has been processed and actually for the room temperature it is a maximum of four hours. "Because maybe so much production, so it is not quickly distributed to schools," he continued.

For this reason, the DKI Jakarta KPKP Agency wants to fix this.

Although previously SPPG officers had been given special training to process their animal food, technically hygienicizing and so on, the Jakarta KPKP Office would further monitor and ensure that SOPs were actually carried out.

Not only that, his party will make a "check-list" together with the DKI Jakarta Health Office (Dinkes) to monitor SOPs on SPPG.

After that, the results will be processed by the DKI Jakarta Education Office (Disdik). "So the KPKP is trying to carry out mitigation only. Mitigation in fresh foodstuffs," said Hasudungan.
