Menkum Claims There Is No Government Intervention Regarding The Decree Of The PPP Mardiono Decree

BANDUNG - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas claimed that in the ratification of SK Mardiono as General Chair of PPP by him, there was no intervention from the government.

"There are no interventions, nothing. So don't expect intervention from the government. Who registers, we verify. If it is appropriate, we will issue it," Supratman said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 2.

Supratman emphasized that there was no problem when asked by reporters about the difference in attitude with the Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra, regarding the United Development Party (PPP).

Yusril previously stated that he was neutral in responding to the PPP issue, while Supratman was reported to have ratified Mardiono's Decree (SK) as General Chair of PPP.

"What's the problem?" said Supratman.

PPP SK Mardiono, said Supratman, was submitted to his party on September 30, 2025, and signed by him on October 1, 2025.

Until September 30, 2025, he claimed, there was not a single objection note to Mardiono's registration as General Chair of PPP.

"Until yesterday, on the 30th, there was not a single letter that we received regarding the objection to Pak Mardiono's registration. After I signed the decree, then someone came. How do I want to change the decree? I have signed it," he said.

The signing, claimed by Supratman, has been carried out by an inspection of both the articles of association (AD), as well as their household budget (ART) and has been declared appropriate.

"So the mechanism used by the AD/ART is in accordance with the results of the 9th Mutamar in Makassar," he said.

When asked about the signing of the Mardiono Decree as the General Chair of the PPP which only took about one day, Supratman said it had been too long.

"Everyone, let alone one day. I finished Golkar two hours. I finished the PKB three hours I finished the decree. So if it's a day, it's too late," he said.

Regarding the SK from the PPP party who chose Agus Suparmanto as the general chairman who was reported to have entered the Ministry of Law, Supratman said it was no longer possible for him to ratify because he had signed the Mardiono Decree.

"It's impossible, if we have signed it. Please take legal action, if it is felt that the state administration decision has a problem, please," he said.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra emphasized that the government was neutral and did not side with any camp in responding to the internal dynamics that occurred within the United Development Party (PPP).

Yusril also invited the two general chairmen of PPP as a result of the congress to register the composition of the management with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights by attaching various supporting documents.

"The government is obliged to carefully review the petition to ascertain which ones are in accordance with applicable legal norms and which ones are not," he said.

Yusril emphasized that the government will not and at all do not want to interfere in the internal dynamics of any party.

According to him, internal party conflicts are matters that must be resolved internally according to the AD/ART and the applicable Political Party Law.

Therefore, the government will not intervene. If possible, he said, neither party should ask the government to mediate or facilitate internal conflicts.

"Because it could be interpreted as a form of intervention or subtle pressure from the government," said Yusril.

Meanwhile, the 10th PPP Congress in Ancol at the end of September 2025 gave birth to two elected general chairmen, namely Muhammad Mardiono and Agus Suparmanto.

Both admitted that they were elected by acclamation and claimed legitimate leadership in accordance with PPP's Articles of Association/Household Budget (AD/ART).

The two camps also stated that they would immediately register a new composition of the post-contamination management after first pouring the congress' decision into a notary deed.
