Responding To The KPK's Call, Ilham Habibie Wants The Mercedes 280 SL Purchased By RK To Be Returned

JAKARTA - The son of the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia B. J Habibie, Ilham Akbar Habibie has fulfilled the summons of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding allegations of corruption in the procurement of advertisements at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR) today, September 30.

From field observations, Ilham came to the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta at around 14.00 WIB. The former deputy governor candidate in the 2024 West Java Pilkada admitted that investigators were asked by investigators to attend the Mercedes Benz 280 SL car purchased by former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.

"I'm here to be called because of efforts to return the car. That's all," Ilham told reporters at the location.

Ilham did not want to talk much about his summons. He chose to hurry in and would deliver a more complete statement after meeting the investigators.

Meanwhile, Ilham is known to have been questioned by investigators from the anti-corruption commission on Wednesday, September 3. At that time, he admitted that he was being questioned regarding the purchase of the Mercedes Benz 280 SL from his father by Ridwan Kamil.

Ilham explained that the sale and purchase took place in 2021 and began when Ridwan Kamil saw the vehicle of his father's collection. The Golkar Party politician then bid for Habibie's Mercedes Benz 280 SL and agreed on a selling value of Rp. 2.6 billion.

However, Ridwan Kamil only paid Rp1.3 billion or half. So, the two of them met last year and agreed to cancel the sale and purchase.

Ilham admitted that he was ready to replace Ridwan Kamil's money to get his father's car again at that time. However, it turned out that Mercy Pagoda was still in the workshop and the workshop did not want to spend it because Ridwan Kamil had not paid the cost of restoring and the KPK immediately confiscated it.

Meanwhile, the KPK suspects that the classic car was bought using non-budgeter funds from Bank BJB. This money comes from the difference in paying for the procurement of advertisements by Bank BJB which was returned by the advertising tender winning company.

In the course of this case, investigators continue to explore where these non-budgeters are flowing. A number of parties have been investigated, including the celebrity Lisa Mariana, who is suspected of having been close to Ridwan Kamil.

Then the KPK has confiscated a number of vehicles allegedly owned by former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil. Including, a Royal Enfield motorbike that is now in the KPK Confiscated Goods Storage House (Rupbasan), Cawang, East Jakarta.

Previously reported, the KPK has named five suspects in connection with allegations of corruption in the procurement of advertisements at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR).

They are former President Director of Bank BJB Yuddy Renaldi; Head of Bank BJB Corporate Secretary Division Widi Hartoto; Agency Controller Antedja Muliatama and Cakrawala Kreasi Mandiri Kin Asikin Dulmanan; Agency Controller BSC Advertising and PT Wahana Semesta Bandung Ekspres (WSBE) Suhendrik; and Controller of PT Cipta Karya Sukses Bersama (CKSB) and PT Cipta Karya Mandiri Bersama (CKMB) Raden Sophan Jaya Kusuma.

This case investigation warrant (sprindik) was issued on February 27, 2025. The actions of the five suspects are suspected of having caused the state to lose up to Rp22 billion.

Currently, the detention has not been carried out on five suspects. However, they have been prevented from traveling abroad for six months and can be extended according to the needs of the investigation.
