Karawang Police Seize 126 Grams Of Methamphetamine From Dealers In Cilamaya Wetan

The police officers from the Karawang Police Narcotics Investigation Unit confiscated 126 grams of methamphetamine-type drugs in the arrest of a drug dealer in the Cilamaya Wetan District, Karawang Regency, West Java.

"The perpetrator with the initials A, a resident of Tanjungjaya Hamlet, Muara Village, Cilamaya Wetan District, has actually been a target for a long time," said Karawang Police Chief AKBP Fiki Novian Ardiansyah, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 30.

He conveyed that the perpetrators were targeted by the police because they often circulated drugs in the northern coastal area of Karawang, especially around Cilamaya Wetan District.

After reconnaissance, finally on Wednesday (24/9) the perpetrator was arrested by officers in the area around Cilamaya Wetan District.

From the arrest, officers confiscated evidence in the form of 126.55 grams of crystal methamphetamine ready for distribution along with supporting equipment such as digital scales, plastic for packaging, and others.

To account for his actions, now the perpetrators are charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) subsidiary to Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

The threat is a minimum imprisonment of five years and a maximum of 20 years.

In carrying out drug trafficking, the perpetrators often change names. This was done, among other things, to trick the officers in the investigation process.

He said the confiscated 126.55 grams of drug evidence was not small. If converted, the value reaches around Rp. 189 million.

With that much evidence, he said, the disclosure of the drug case has saved hundreds of people's lives from the dangers of narcotics abuse.
