Most Of The MBG Kitchens Have Not Bagged A Hygienic Certificate

Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin revealed that most of the kitchens for the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program or nutritional fulfillment service unit (SPPG) do not yet have a Higienic and Sanitation Like Certificate (SLHS).

"The data is incomplete with me, but most of them are still in process. Most of them (SPPG has no SLHS)," Budi said after a limited coordination meeting at the Ministry of Health office, Sunday, September 28.

He emphasized that the government encourages all SPPGs to immediately take care of SLHS to prevent cases of food poisoning from happening again. The government will also accelerate the completion of the MBG distribution standard, starting from the social environment, workforce, to the certification process. The target, all standards are completed in one month.

However, Budi reminded that the ownership of SLHS alone is not enough. According to him, the government together with the Ministry of Health and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) will carry out strict supervision ranging from the selection of raw materials, processing processes, to food recitation.

In addition to SLHS, BGN requires the MBG kitchen to have three main certificates, namely halal certificates, hygienic and sanitation certificates, as well as a certificate of useable water. The time limit given until the end of October 2025. If it does not meet the requirements, the failed MBG kitchen certification will be closed.

In a meeting chaired directly by Minister of Health Budi, the government also designated the MBG poisoning case as an extraordinary incident (KLB). The determination of the KLB status was carried out due to a significant increase in cases of poisoning in a short time, which was considered risky to public health.

The coordination meeting was also attended by a number of high-ranking officials, including Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of PPPA Arifah Fauzi, Minister of Population and Development of the Wihaji Family, and Deputy Minister of Education and Culture Fajar Riza Ul Haq. Also present were Presidential Chief of Staff M Qodari, Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana, Head of BPOM Taruna Ikrar, and representatives of the Governor of West Java.

With this step, the government affirms its commitment to strengthen the standard of MBG kitchen hygiene so that the program for fulfilling children's nutrition runs safely and no longer causes health problems in the community.
