He said that the government and related agencies were focusing on responding to the status of the Extraordinary Incident (KLB) of the MBG food menu poisoning incident that recently occurred in West Bandung Regency, West Java and a number of other areas.

In a press conference session, the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan conveyed the decisive steps taken to ensure that the MBG program runs safely and hygienically for all Indonesian children.
"We are working on a coordination meeting to strengthen governance in BGN. The problematic Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit will be temporarily closed for evaluation and investigation," he said.
He emphasized the importance of a hygienic certificate (SLHS) as a mandatory requirement for every SPPG.
"The certificate is hygienic to be a special concern. Every SPPG must have a SLHS," he said.
Zulkifli also asked the Minister of Health to optimize the role of puskesmas and School Health Units (UKS) throughout Indonesia to monitor SPPG regularly.
According to him, the involvement of health workers at the regional level is important to ensure food supplies remain nutritious and safe.
The follow-up coordination meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday (1/10) to formulate the next strategic steps.
On the same occasion, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian stated that his party would hold a virtual meeting with all regional heads on Monday (29/9).
