JAKARTA - The UK Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO) reported a loud explosion occurred near a ship passing off the coast of Yemen on Tuesday, September 23.
Citing the AFP, the explosion was amid a Houthi militant military operation targeting Israeli-affiliated ships since 2023 as a form of support for humanity in Gaza and the independence of the Palestinian state.
UKMTO, run by the British Royal Navy, said reports of an explosion point of 120 nautical miles east of Aden, Yemen.
The agency reported "circles and explosions around the ship.
Based on the deepening, the ship and crew were reported to have survived and continued their journey to the next stop port.
No party has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion, which UKMTO described as an "attack."
