Pramono Will Prepare Gig Economy Facilities For Young Jakarta Children

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said he would provide public facilities that support the gig economy work system for young people working in Jakarta.

"For the mixed use, the co-working space is the same as the economic gig. In this case, the Jakarta government will prepare it," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 22.

Gig economy is a work environment where individuals take short-term, flexible, or project-based jobs and do not work full time. Usually, gig economy workers appear because they can choose to work anytime and anywhere.

"Thisig economy is now a world trend. Young people are given the opportunity to use public facilities owned by the government," said Pramono.

The discourse on providing facilities to support the gig economy emerged after Pramono attended a limited coordination meeting at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs led by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartato.

Pramono revealed, at the meeting, President Prabowo Subianto would build 23,000 housing units in the Jakarta area through the Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP).

"For housing programs, there are 23 thousand housing facilities in Jakarta that we will take advantage of the facilities provided by the Ministry of Housing," he said.

According to him, the DKI Provincial Government will also cooperate with a number of development implementing contractors in Jakarta. According to him, this program can also create jobs for the community.

"There are several places, but throughout Jakarta and the workforce needs are almost 100,000. Because this is indeed a program to be able to absorb labor when the economy is under pressure," explained Pramono.
