MATARAM - The Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) of West Nusa Tenggara revealed the arrest of a police officer with the initials ARS who was suspected of distributing methamphetamine in Bima Regency.
Head of the NTB BNNP Eradication and Intelligence Division Kombes Gede Suyasa said the arrest of ARS was carried out on August 14, 2025.
"We made arrests and examinations of ARS with the help of the Bima District Police Chief," said Gede in his official statement in Mataram, Antara, Monday, September 22.
The arrest of the Bima Police is the result of the development of a network of methamphetamine dealers in Bima Regency. ARS is suspected of being directly involved in the network.
From a search at ARS' residence located in BTN Panda, Bima Regency, officers secured at least 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
"ARS in this case has been a suspect along with three people who are suspected of being part of the methamphetamine distribution network in Bima Regency," he said.
According to him, the four suspects have been carrying out hundreds of grams of methamphetamine since December 2024. The other three suspects each had the initials SAL, AH, and FR.
Gede emphasized that the investigation revealed the roles of each suspect based on the results of the arrests, findings of drug evidence, and transfers of money between members of the network.
"Following up on the determination, we have detained the four suspects," he said.
