SEMARANG Police are investigating the death of a woman at a house in Perum Banjardowo Baru, Genuk, Semarang City, Central Java, who was allegedly killed.

Genuk Police Chief Kompol Rismanto said the victim was Ika Rahmawati (43), a resident of Brebes Regency. He was found by his younger brother in a lifeless condition on Thursday, September 18.

"The victim was found by his younger brother who had just returned from work as a motorcycle taxi driver," said Rismanto in Semarang, Antara, Sunday, September 21.

According to him, when he came home from work the witness saw the gate closed, but the door of the house was open with the lights off. The victim was found lying on the bed in the room.

The victim's sister then asked a neighbor for help to check on her brother's condition. "By one of the neighbors who is a medical officer, the victim was declared dead," he said.

The witness, who was suspicious of the victim's death, then reported to the police. "From the results of the crime scene by Inafis, it is known that there was a wound on the victim's neck," said Rismanto.

The victim's body was then taken to Bhayangkara Hospital Semarang for an autopsy. The police have also examined witnesses and investigated the alleged murder case.
