Exemplary Of President Prabowo, Bogor DPRD Ready To Obey Rules Not To Use Strobo And Sirene

BOGOR - Chairman of the Bogor Regency DPRD, West Java, Sastra Winara emphasized that none of the legislature members in his area used strobo lights or sirens on private vehicles.

The statement was made following the President's appeal through the Minister of State Secretary regarding restrictions on the use of strobes and sirens.

The Bogor Regency DPRD is ready to comply with the directives of the central government and the police regarding the use of strobo which is often misused on the highway.

"Whatever it is, especially from the direct president or from the Minister of State Secretary, we make sure that they will follow these appeals," said Sastra in Cibinong, Antara, Sunday, September 21.

He added that the policy of freezing the use of strobes and sirens by the National Police Headquarters was a reference that must be obeyed by regional officials.

"Yes, of course we in the regions, especially in Bogor Regency, will follow those rules," he said.

Sastra ensured that all DPRD members did not use these equipment, including himself as the head of the regional legislature.

"We make sure there is none. Anyway, if you don't want to be late, go faster," he asserted.

Previously, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo revealed that the Ministry of State Affairs had issued a Circular regarding the use of sirens and strobes for public officials. According to him, these facilities should not be used beyond reasonable limits.

"Don't use it for something that goes beyond reasonable limits and still we have to pay attention to and respect other road users," said Prasetyo at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex.

He emphasized that although the rules allow the use of siren lights for time effectiveness under certain conditions, officials must pay attention to propriety and public order.

"It doesn't mean using these facilities arbitrarily or arbitrarily," he said.

As an example, Prasetyo gave an example of President Prabowo Subianto who continued to follow traffic rules in his daily activities.

"Mr. President often joins in congestion, even if the red light also stops, when there is nothing very urgent. That spirit must be imitated," he concluded.
