JAKARTA - The British National Crime Agency said two teenagers were charged with cyber attacks in 2024 against London's public transportation agency.

Transport for London (TfL), which operates a network of subways and buses in the capital city with millions of trips every day, was targeted in August 2024. TfL at the time said some customers' personal data had been accessed.

Thalha Jubair (19) and Owen Flowers (18) were charged under the Computer Abuse Act for conspiring together to commit illegal acts against TfL, the NCA said in a statement reported by Reuters on Thursday, September 18.

The agency said Flowers had also been charged with offenses related to Sutter Health in California, one of the largest health systems in the United States, and had a conspiracy with other parties to infiltrate the SSM Health Care Corporation network.

Investigators believe the TfL attack was carried out by a collective hacker member known as Scattered Spider.
