JAKARTA - The police managed to find Eko Purnomo, one of the people who was previously reported missing after participating in a demonstration in Jakarta some time ago.
Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Brigadier General Pol Ade Ary Syam Indradi said Eko was found in Central Kalimantan after changing professions to fishermen.
"Brother Eko Purnomo has been found and is actually working as a fish catcher in Kuala Jelai, Sukamara Regency, Central Kalimantan," said Ade Ary in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, September 18.
Ade Ary explained that his party initially received information from social media about a number of people who were reported missing after the demonstration in Jakarta, including Eko Purnomo.
Based on this information, Polda Metro Jaya formed a special joint team from the complaint post for missing persons Sub-Directorate IV of the Ditreskrimsus to conduct an investigation.
From Eko's parents' statement, it was known that Eko had informed him that he was about to travel to Kalimantan. However, he did not return home after participating in the demonstration.
"The team conducted data analysis and information from parents who said Eko was in Kuala Jelai Village, Kuala Jelai District, Sukamara Regency, Central Kalimantan," said Ade Ary.
The police team then checked the location and confirmed that Eko was actually working as a fish catcher there.
"The search team coordinates with the Kuala Jelai Police, Sukamara Police, and Central Kalimantan Police to check the whereabouts of Eko Purnomo," said Ade Ary.
Apart from Eko, Polda Metro Jaya has also found Bima Permana Putra, who was reported missing after a demonstration in Jakarta. Bima was found selling lion dance toys at Klteng Eng An Kiong, Jalan RE Martadinata No. 1, Kota Lama, Kedung Kandang, Malang City, East Java, on Wednesday (17/9).
