US Names 4 Iranian-affiliated Militant Groups As Terrorist Organizations

JAKARTA - The United States has designated four militant groups affiliated with Iran as foreign terrorist organizations.

These groups are Harakat al-Nujaba, Kata'ib Sayyid al-S Wayada, Harakat Ansar Allah al-Awfiya, and Kata'ib al-Imam Ali.

The four of them have previously been designated as Specially Appointed Global Terrorists and Sayyid al-S secretada Kata'ib in 2023.

"Iranian-affiliated militia groups have carried out attacks on the US Embassy in Baghdad and bases housing US troops and the Coalition, usually using pseudonyms or proxy groups to obscure their involvement," Foreign Minister Marco Rubio said in a statement.

The United States considers Iran as the main supporter of national terrorism in the world.
