5 People Become Suspects In The Robbery Motorcycle Warehouse Raid In Matraman, 1 Minor

East Jakarta Metro Police revealed the role of the suspect in the motorcycle theft case carried out by a gang of perpetrators at his headquarters on Jalan Asem Gede, Utan Kayu Selatan Village, Matraman.

"Then from the results of the disclosure of the motorcycle theft case, we arrested five people. They have different and alternate roles," said East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Dicky Fertoffan, Wednesday, September 17.

Five people were arrested, four were named suspects and one was a child in conflict with the law (ABH).

"According to the rules, the child is protected by a child protection law so that the process is converted into the right of the person concerned," he said.

Of the five perpetrators, he said, four people acted as executors or jockeys for motorcycle theft. They are MG (ABH), EW, SR, and MR.

Meanwhile, another suspect, with the initials T, was tasked with changing the appearance of the stolen motorbike before being resold.

"These four executors have the same abilities, they take turns taking or carrying vehicles in the field. Meanwhile, T plays a role in accommodating and changing the appearance of stolen motorbikes," explained Dicky.

The suspects were charged with two alternative articles, namely Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with weight, the threat of a sentence of up to seven years in prison. Then the Emergency Law related to possession of weapons carries a penalty of more than 10 years.

The disclosure of the case of motor vehicle theft (curanmor) with weighting that occurred in the Matraman area began with three police reports that entered from the end of August to mid-September 2025.

The first report was recorded on September 12, 2025, with the reporter NA. Then the second report was on the same date on behalf of the reporter IA, while the third report was on August 29, 2025 with the reporter ME.

"We are following up on the three reports. The modus operandi of the perpetrators is to steal by weight and ownership of homemade firearms," said Head of Public Relations of the East Jakarta Metro Police AKP Teta.

These reports and cases are in accordance with the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 Article 1 Paragraph 1 and or Article 363 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code and Article 64 of the Criminal Code.

The series of incidents occurred in three different locations. The first was at the Nurul Hikmah Foundation, Matraman on Friday, September 12, at around 12.30 WIB.

Second, at Jalan Balai Rakyat Number 7, Utan Kayu, Matraman, on Friday, September 12, at around 14.20 WIB. The third incident took place in Gang Awap, Balimester, Jatinegara on Thursday, August 28 at around 23.00 WIB.

A gang of motorcycle thieves was raided by police at a rented house on Jalan Asem Gede, Utan Kayu Selatan Village, Matraman, East Jakarta, Friday, September 12, afternoon.

The raid occurred on information about the theft of a silver Honda Beat motorcycle in 2023 with police number B 5960 TOT. The motorbike is known to be equipped with active GPS which then becomes a clue for the team to carry out further investigations.

The contract was made as if the workshop by the five perpetrators were at the crime scene (TKP).

Five perpetrators along with evidence, including 12 stolen motorbikes, two BPKB and STNK, one flash drive containing surveillance camera footage (CCTV), two T-locked handles with four T-key eyes, one key opener magnet, one homemade firearm along with three bullets, two toy guns, and three sharp weapons in the form of machetes and knives.
